A duvet on legs
The warmer weather has encouraged five broods of lapwing chicks at WWT London Wetland Centre to hatch.
One female has three chicks which – on chillier days – huddle under her, using her as the lapwing equivalent of a radiator.
This is normal behaviour for lapwings, although sometimes it can be a bit of a struggle to find space among all the legs as this bemused looking chick discovered.
