Immerse yourself in nature at the London Wetland Centre with the enchanting storyteller Olivia Armstrong.

Join us for a sensory storytelling adventure crafted for families with special educational needs and disabilities. Journey through different parts of the Centre, celebrating the changing seasons with stories, songs, and sensory props. Olivia, who has delighted audiences at the British Library and British Museum, brings her love for the natural world to every session. Don't miss this chance to connect with nature in a magical and engaging way.

  • Time: 9 am (Duration: 1 hour). Please note that this event begins before the centre opens to the public.
  • Time: 10.15 am. Following the stories, we will have a quiet and calm pond dipping session.
  • Meeting Point: In front of our admissions entrance. A member of staff will greet you.
  • Price: Free; pre-booking required. Normal admission applies. Non-members must purchase admission.

  • The Thames Water H2O building will be open all day as a safe space that you can access should you need somewhere calm to spend time in.
  • Although we do not yet have a hoist changing area on site we can give you access to our first aid room should you require a larger changing space- please ask for access at admission.

    Olivia Armstrong is an Irish performance storyteller known for her enchanting tales of wonder and magic for all ages. She has created site-specific performances in unique locations like castles, caves, ships, and palaces. Olivia’s favourite storytelling spots include Windsor Castle, The Royal Parks, The British Museum, and Hampton Court Palace. With a deep knowledge of folklore and a love for the natural world, Olivia’s stories bring the magic of wildlife to life. Join her at the London Wetland Centre this summer for an unforgettable journey into nature through captivating stories.
