Bitterns and Water Rails spotted this morning

Bitterns on main lake and reservoir lagoon, good count of Water Rail across the reserve, and some Snipe right outside the Observatory

6 Snipe - marsh, scrape, main lake

2 Stonechat - scrape/marsh

1 Water Pipit - marsh

13 Redwing - sheltered lagoon/south route

2 Goldeneye - reservoir lagoon

70+ Wigeon - marsh, scrape bank

December bird highlights: Jack Snipe, Bittern, Goldeneye, Water Rail, Stonechat, Skylark, Water Pipit, Lesser Redpoll, Chiffchaff.

Fungi: (November) Hairy Oysterling (photo below), Hawthorn Twiglet, Pink Domecap, Yellow Stainer, Dewdrop Bonnet, Fatal Dapperling, Bay Polypore, Common Puffball, Tuberous Polypore, Slender Club, Weeping Bolete, Crested Coral, Blushing Wood Mushroom, Fragrant Funnel, Alder Woodwart, Blistered Cup, Common Bird's Nest, Stubble Rosegill, Yellowing Knight.
