Oystercatchers still on main lake island w/c 1st June 2020

Pair of Oystercatchers continue to display to each other on main lake shingle. Also Mediterranean Gull and good numbers of Swift overhead

1 Redshank - scrape

3 Lapwing juveniles - marsh, scrape

2 Mediterranean Gull - main lake

3 Shoveler - marsh, scrape

150 Swift - feeding over main lake, marsh, reservoir lagoon

Amphibians: Marsh Frogs singing in wildside ponds, entrance lake, pond zone

Reptiles: 31 slow worm, 6 grass snake (19th May transect).


Dragonflies: Common Blue Damselfly, Azure Damselfly, Blue-tailed Damselfly, Hairy Dragonfly (photo below), Emperor Dragonfly, Large Red Damselfly, Broad-bodied Chaser, Black-tailed Skimmer (early June).


Butterflies: Orange Tip, Peacock, Small Tortoishell, Red Admiral, Speckled Wood, Small White, Holly Blue (photo below), Common Blue (June).
