Reedbed walk

A whole new world of discovery awaits you. Escape the everyday and discover peaceful wetland treasures and secluded spots.

Eurasian bittern in reedbed

Head to the reedbed walk, accessible from the Harrier hide, for an immersive journey through wetland nature and discover some secretive and rare species. Listen and look out for Cetti’s and Grasshopper warblers, water rails, bitterns and bearded tits as well as Marsh Harriers and Crested Grebes.

The reedbed walk is also home to our Gordon Taylor, Rees, and Tomlinson hide, with spectacular, up-close views of nature. The reserve has regular sightings of beautiful roe deer, otters, stoat and some more of Martin Mere’s best kept secrets (don’t tell anyone!).
