Look deeply beyond at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre’s latest exhibition
A new exhibition that explores the magnified world of nature has begun at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre.
Deeply Beyond, an exhibition by Mary Keenan, uses lighting techniques to show plant specimens and feathers in fine detail producing vibrant, colourful, beautiful, photographic art works that looks beyond the usual eye view.
Centre Manager, Nick Brooks, said: “We have never had an exhibition of this type before at the centre. You can see things like a delicate white flower coloured blue and glowing orange from within, the intricacy of a seed pod or a peacock’s feather portrayed in beautiful rich colours. It is something very different to come and see over Christmas.”
The exhibition can be viewed until 28 January and will be located in the exhibition hall and all art work will be available to purchase with a percentage going towards the valuable work that Martin Mere does.
WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre is open every day (except Christmas Day) from 9.30am to 4.30pm during winter months and parking is free of charge. Situated off the A59, it is signposted from the M61, M58 and M6. The Centre is also accessible via the Southport to Manchester and the Liverpool to Preston line by train from Burscough Rail Stations.
