WWT Martin Mere helps North West Women’s Institutes Celebrate their Centenary Year
WWT Martin Mere, a mere youngster at only 40 years old, is celebrating with North West Women’s Institutes (WI) great achievement of reaching the grand old age of 100 by giving them a birthday treat - a great group day out at Martin Mere at a reduced admission price, including a cream tea.
WWT Martin Mere is helping local WI’s groups mark their special birthday by letting them get close to spectacular wetland wildlife in their area at the beautiful reserve. Whilst at Martin Mere, WI groups can also go on safari, hand feed exotic birds, watch nature’s breathtaking spectacles from cosy hides, listen to commentated feeds by wardens, join specially tailored tours and activities, take in stunning scenery and lots more. Finally, they can round off their day with a traditional WI favourite, a delicious cream tea.
Nick Brooks, Centre Manager said:
‘We’re delighted to support our local WI’s by introducing this birthday offer. The WI does fantastic work in the area, including campaigning on issues that affect their local communities such as the environment. This is an area we are also passionate about and hope that by encouraging WI groups to visit us in their centenary year they can see close up how we help to protect wildlife in their local community.’
