On 1 March 2025, WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre turns 50.

Join us as we celebrate with a line-up of events and activities.

When WWT Founder Sir Peter Scott was introduced to the land by friend Ronnie Barker, he had a vision of a centre where wildlife could thrive and visitors could gain a passion for nature.

Purchased for £52,000 in the 1970s, the centre has welcomed over 7 million visitors and over 300,000 schools since it opened on 1 March 1975.
