Join us for an early morning visit to Martin Mere

This October, join us for an awe-inspiring spectacle as thousands of pink-footed geese make their annual migration from Iceland to spend the winter at our wetland centre.

An unforgettable experience

Join one of our wardens on an out-of-hours visit to our Discovery Hide. At 7am, you'll experience our mere as it's packed full of migrating birds and have the expert knowledge of our team to find out more about their amazing adventures. All from the comfort of our hide, you'll get to watch as the sun rises and a sea of pink-footed geese take off in a honking flurry.

Delicious full English breakfast

Finish off your morning with a full English breakfast in our Mere Side Cafe, a perfect end to a perfect experience.

This event is extremely popular, so we advise booking early so you don't miss out. We look forward to seeing you!

This ticket does not include admission to Martin Mere. If you wish to explore Martin Mere’s grounds and reserve after this event finishes and you are not a member of WWT, you’ll need to purchase admission tickets separately.

Terms and conditions

We will meet in the car park on arrival
You need to arrive at least 5 minutes before the event begins to ensure the event can begin promptly at 7am
No refund will be given if you do not attend on the morning. If you cannot attend, you must notify us at least 48 hours before the event to be issued a refund.
Not suitable for children under 8 years old.
If the event is cancelled due to bad weather conditions we will endeavour to move you to an alternative date or issue a refund.
This ticket does not include admission to Martin Mere. If you wish to explore Martin Mere’s grounds and reserve after this event and you’re not a member of WWT, you’ll need to purchase admission tickets separately.
Martin Mere does not officially open until 9:30am, if you would like to explore Martin Mere after the event, you will need to remain in the cafe until the grounds and reserve open.
