Mudfest 2025

Get stuck in with a mud obstacle course, mud show, wild crafts, and mud kitchen! We'll also be returning with the North West Puddling Jumping Championships.

With hands-on activities for all ages and abilities, everyone can connect with nature and discover the magical powers of mud for wildlife and play.

After all, it’s the stuff wetlands (and great family adventures) are made of.

Go mad for mud with our activities:

• Jump between obstacles or climb your way through our mud-tastic obstacle course. 11:30am-1:30pm
  
• Visit our craft room for clay modelling, creating a worm, and pine cone bird feeders! 12-3pm
• Cook up delicious muddy meals in our mud kitchen! Daily
• Make mud sculptures. Can you make an otter, or maybe a mallard? Daily
• Attend a Mud Shows in our Lecture Theatre and learn all of the fascinating and mind-boggling facts about mud! Mon - Fri 11am & 1:30pm. Relaxed sessions available, see below.

North West Puddle Jumping Championships

Every day from 2:30-3pm during February half-term, enter the competition located near the Mere Side Cafe. Relaxed sessions available, see below.

We’ll score you for jumping in three puddles - the more creative you are, the higher the score. Daily winners will be announced and receive a prize. 50p per entry.

Relaxed sessions

We’ve added relaxed sessions on Mon 17th & Tue 18th Feb, designed for those with neuro-divergence or different needs. These are bookable in advance:

Mud Shows: Relaxed mud show at 3pm. Limited capacity and adjustments have been made to this show. Book here.

Puddle Jumping Championships: Relaxed puddle jumping at 1:30pm. Limited capacity and less of a crowd for those who need it. Scores will be added to the overall scores. Book here to secure your slot and payment of 50p will be taken on the day.

Standard admission prices apply for Martin Mere, with WWT members entering free.
