Another glorious day, calm, sunny and warm. Perhaps not surprising to find another large influx of Avocet, bring the total up to 101, not far off a record count. other waders included 108 Oystercatcher (highest count this year), 79 Ruff, 40 Black-tailed Godwit, 7 Ringed Plover, 6 Redshank, 4 Dunlin, 2 Common Snipe, Curlew and 700+ Lapwing.

Some waterfowl counts included 1530 Whooper Swan, 2000+ Pink-footed Geese, 500+ Shelduck, 21 Shoveler, 45 Pochard, 34 Tufted Duck and 2 Gadwall. At least 4 Little Grebe along the Reed Bed Walk.

Raptors included 4 Marsh Harrier, 8 Common Buzzard, 3 Kestrel and 2 Sparrowhawk. A Short-eared Owl mid afternoon.

There were sightings of Willow Tit, 3 Goldcrest and Brambling around the Janet Kear Hide.

Around at least 15 Skylark many in song, 9 Common Gull and Raven.
