A Big Thanks.
A big thanks to everyone who attended the North West Bird Watching Festival over the last two days. Didn't manage to get round to reporting yesterday's sighting so I'll include the highlights here now.
Male Hen Harrier showed well. Again making it 7 species of raptor. Firecrest again near the in focus shop but elusive. Green-winged Teal from the Ron Barker Hide. Greenland White-fronted Goose seen with Greylags late afternoon from the United Utilities Hide.
The ringing demonstrations at the weekend were popular with 88 birds rung.
2 Wood Pigeon, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 16 Blue Tit, Great Tit, Coal Tit, 7 Blackbird, Redwing, Wren, Dunnock, 6 Robin, 3 Goldcrest, 15 Chaffinch, 34 Greenfinch, Brambling, 4 Tree Sparrow and Magpie.
