A 'twitchable' Woodcock

Quite a few people coming in today to see the Woodcock which was showing again from the Janet Kear Hide. Not easy to see well under the normal circumstances of birds roding at dusk during the breeding season or being flushed on the (east) coast during migration. Our bird was briefly flushed by a stoat early on but was still present in the afternoon.

Other reports included Brambling from the Janet Kear Hide and Merlin out hunting on the reserve.

Blackcap along the Nature Trail and a large flock of Fieldfare feeding along the reserve boundary.
