Anytime now

Another showery day. Perfect condition for producing migrant waders on the reserve. Anytime now something rare could drop in...

Today's addition was another Sanderling with 10 Dunlin from the Ron Barker Hide early afternoon. Other waders included 2 Common Sandpiper on Langley's Brook, and multiple Ringed Plover, Little Ringed Plover, Lapwing, Oystercatcher, Redshank and Avocet.

A Peregrine was an unwelcome visitor for the breeding Avocet on Woodend Marsh, checking out if any young have hatched. Also today, Marsh Harrier, Kestrel and 3 Common Buzzard.
