Barn Owls were active this morning and into the early afternoon, 1 showed very well from United Utilities spending over an hour perched close to the hide, with another bird in the Ron Barker area. The 2 Green Sandpipers continue to show from various hides, the Hale Hide being one of the best spots to look for them. Other waders today included upto 9 Dunlin, 1 Ringed Plover and 137 Black tailed Godwit. At least 5 Avocet remain on the reserve.

4 Common Tern were seen today with 2 adults and 2 immature birds noted. A single female Marsh Harrier was the only Harrier reported today along with the usual Common Buzzard, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk. A few Sand Martin and upto 50 Swift were feeding over the reserve.
