At least 3 Barnacle Geese this morning with Pink-footed Geese. It's shaping up to be an excellent autumn for interesting geese on the reserve. No reports of the Euro White-fronts today but there has been an influx into the UK and North-West in the past week. Apparently the report of Greenland Whitefronts that made it onto the 'bird news internet sites' on friday were in fact European birds instead.

If you do have any sightings to add to this summary please make yourselves known by call in at the in focus shop or by telling someone on site. Far better to do this than report it afterwards when you get home! However do feel free to post any pictures you have taken of interesting birds via the 'latest public sightings' button (on the previous page), as Karen Campbell has of the European White-fronts. Thanks Karen.

More waders in with 12 Dunlin and 18 Black-tailed Godwit. Again 800+ Lapwing and 60+ Ruff.

Today's raptors included 2 Peregrine, Merlin (juv), Marsh Harrier, 2 Sparrowhawk, 3 Common Buzzard and Kestrel.

Over 100 Tree Sparrows showing around the reserve and at least one Willow Tit from the Janet Kear Hide.
