A hint of the Mediterranean about the Mere today ( OK - maybe I exaggerate a little ), with not only Little Egret and Mediterranean Gull on the reserve, but sunshine as well ! Other birds around today included 100 or so Black-tailed Godwits, 3 moulting male Ruff, 2 Green Sandpipers, 1 Common Sandpiper, and a Dunlin. The male Marsh Harrier was also present, and a juvenile Tawny Owl showed well in the pine trees on the way out to the Ron Barker hide.
