Raptors were out in good numbers today, with counts of 3 Buzzard, 2 Peregrine, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 3 Marsh Harrier, 2 Kestrel and 1 Sparrowhawk received. 8 White-fronted Geese were with up to 2, [...]

Raptors were out in good numbers today, with counts of 3 Buzzard, 2 Peregrine, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 3 Marsh Harrier, 2 Kestrel and 1 Sparrowhawk received. 8 White-fronted Geese were with up to 2,000 Pink-footed Gesse in the immediate area. Willow Tit still present and showing regularly at the feeder in front of the Janet Kear hide, along with Great Spotted Woodpecker and the usual mixed flocks of finches and tits. Still a large flock of Greenfinches around the Kingfisher hide, estimated at around 60 birds this morning. A Barn Owl was hunting just off the reserve (though visible from a number of the hides) from about 4pm.

Finally, late news from yesterday, when 2 or 3 Lesser Redpolls were seen.
