An excellent count of over 230 Black-tailed Godwit. Great to see these birds flying in tight formations when a raptor flushes them. Other waders included 3 Ruff, 2 Curlew,  Ringed Plover, 20+ Avocet, Oystercatchers, Redshanks and Green Sandpiper.

Dissapointing news to report. The first Marsh Harrier chicks to be hatched on the reserve died as a result of the torrential rain that occurred on the 22nd June. The rise in water levels will have had serious consequences for many ground nesting species. As it happens, we will be surprised, if the birds don't try again next year.
