Bird News

The Little Stint remained from yesterday but was not seen after mid morning but a Greenshank dropped in for a while but also couldn't be located later in the day. Upto 20 Ruff are still on site along with 600 Lapwing and good numbers of Common Snipe.

A little over head visible migration again this morning with small numbers of Finches, Meadow Pipits and Hirundines with at least 6 Siskin. Whooper Swans had increased to 21 birds, but we are still awaiting the first family group with this years juveniles.

At least 2000 Pink-footed Geese were using the reserve today and at least 20 Wigeon. Goldcrest was again in bushes by the In Focus shop and an adult Peregrine was showing well around the Mere in the morning with at least 3 Marsh Harriers and 10 Common Buzzard.
