2 Marsh Harriers, 2 Peregrines and a Merlin were the raptor highlights of the day, along with the usual Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, and Buzzards.

Six Little Egrets were on the reserve yesterday, although only one was reported today.

A single Bewick's Swan is still on and around the Mere with Whoopers.

Kingfisher showing well again from the Ron Barker hide - these birds have been seen very regularly throughout the day for some time now, and at the moment Martin Mere must be one of the most reliable places to catch up with this often elusive species.

No accurate counts today, but about 15,000 Pink-footed Geese this afternoon, and Whooper Swan numbers must now be approaching 200.
