Black-tailed Godwit

Great to see a sizable flock of Black-tailed Godwit coming in from the coast. Around 90 birds spent sometime flying in formation over the Mere before coming into land. Peak numbers here can hit 300+ and the majority, if not all are icelandic birds.

Other waders included 30+ Ruff, 300+ Lapwing, 2 Ringed Plover and Oystercatcher.

The usual raptors with 3+ Common Buzzard, 2 Peregrine, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk. Barn Owl(s) out hunting from 4pm.

Around 3000 Pink-footed Geese roosting and 1ooo+ Whooper Swan.
