The Bluethroat was seen on and off throughout the day, being first seen around 09.45 when it began to show occasionally upto c12.00, it became much harder to see after midday and was mainly seen in flight later. There was one more flight view between 17.00 upto 22.00. The bird was heard to sing this morning but not since, patience is clearly needed for this bird. But all the time in the same area are several Common Whitethroat, Sedge Warblers, Reed Bunting, Wren, Skylark and Linnet occasionally. Also this evening a Barn Owl and 2 Noctule Bats.

Other sightings on the reserve today included A male Cuckoo still singing along the southern part of the reserve and Tawny Owl calling this evening. A female Marsh Harrier, Peregrine, Kestrel and Common Buzzard were all seen today.

A Green Sandpiper is still around along with a Common Tern around the Mere in the morning and a Leucistic Black headed Gull in the afternoon. Good numbers of Brown Hare can be seen out on the reserve at the moment.
