Brown Hare
Another pleasant day, the forecast ahead looks sensible for the next week or so. Brief bird news today including 2 Siberian Chiffchaff and 2+ Common Chiffchaff still present by the Sewage Works. If you need directions call in at the in focus shop.
At least 800 Whooper Swan still present and small flocks of Pink-footed Geese occasionally dropping in. Another sighting of the hybrid type drake Eurasian X American Wigeon. The bird has the green head stripe of American Wigeon, slightly paler crown stripe but grey flanks.
Waders include 80+ Avocet, 200+ Lapwing (many display flying), 60+ Ruff, 40+ Oystercatcher, 10+ Black-tailed Godwit, 6+ Common Snipe 4 Ringed Plover and Curlew.
Little Egret showed well from the Kingfisher Hide.
It's also a great time to see Brown Hare active around the reserve's fields.
