Cuckoo

First Cuckoo of the year seen well from the Ron Barker Hide and mobbed by the resident Swallows. Great to continue to record this species on the reserve for another year.

More signs of movement with 2 new Curlew Sandpiper and 14 Ringed Plover, mobile around the reserve. Three Little Ringed Plover on the Mere and the first Redshank chicks seen.

The 1cy Little Gull still present hanging around with Black-headed Gulls on the Mere.

A flock of 20 Long-tailed Tit indicates a good breeding season for this species.
