Yellow Wagtails

New for the year Yellow Wagtails (male and female) from the Ron Barker Hide, possibly another from the Harrier Hide. Quite an influx of wagtails with 10+ Pied, at least one White and a single Grey Wagtail. Wheatear from the Reed Bed Walk.

Other movements today included many Meadow Pipit moving North and double figure Swallow and Sand Martin.

A few each of Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler present.

Crossbills still present in pines by the the Raines Hide.

Spoonbill (imm) on Woodend Marsh viewable from the United Utilities Hide. Little Egret right of the Harrier Hide.

Male and female Marsh Harrier over the Reed Bed from the Harrier Hide or Reed Bed Walk. Other raptors included 3+ Common Buzzard, Peregrine, Kestrel and a female Sparrowhawk which caught a Lapwing. Two Raven still.

Common Sandpiper from the Ron Barker Hide. A couple of Dunlin and Ringed Plover dropped in. As well as similar numbers of late of the usual waders.
