European White-fronted Goose

Star bird of the day was an adult European White-fronted Goose which dropped in briefly with ~ 1000 Pink-footed Geese on Plover Field. These birds are feeding close by on a recently harvested carrot field. Hopefully a few more sighting of this before the winter is out.

Speaking of spring the Avocet numbers crept up to 8 today. Watch this number climb in the next few weeks. Other waders included 2000+ Lapwing, 30+ Ruff, 20+ Black-tailed Godwit, 17 Oystercatcher and a few Common Snipe.

At least 3 Barn Owl today with excellent views from the Ron Barker and Harrier Hides. Tawny Owl present deep in ivy, directions from the in focus shop.

Raptors included 2 Marsh Harrier, 4 Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.

Yesterday 1200 Whooper Swan indicates birds are starting to move away.
