Feeling like spring? Not today with temperature barely reaching double figures and misty rain in a strong westerly making viewing difficult.

Still 2 Curlew Sandpiper out on Woodend Marsh viewable from the United Utilities Hide. Other waders include 40+ Avocet, 50+ Black-tailed Godwit, a few Curlew, Dunlin, breeding Redshank, Oystercatcher, Ringed Plover and Lapwing.

Wagtails still present with at least 8 White Wagtail and 2+ Yellow Wagtail. A few Wheatear out on the reserve too. Two Red-legged Partridge from the Ron Barker Hide and just off the reserve on Curlew Lane two Grey Partridge. Corn Bunting and Wheatears also present there.

Treecreeper near the Janet Kear Hide. Little Egret from the UU Hide. Sedge Warblers doing their 'parachuting' song flight along the Reed Bed Walk this morning.

Good numbers of hirundines and Swift feeding over the Sewage Works.
