First Chiffchaff

A Chiffchaff on the Nature Trail in song today and present yesterday is probably the first of the spring migrant birds. Chiffchaff have been present since 5th February at least.

Adult breeding plumage Med Gull on the Mere 3.45pm at least.

Some disturbance along the Nature Trail currently as a number of old unstable Willow are being cut low. These trees will burst back into life in the next month or so.

Some excellent views to be had of Black-tailed Godwit with some birds approaching full breeding plumage. This bird, which showed well in front of in focus shop is still in non-breeding fashion.
