Grasshopper Warbler

Excellent news with the first confirmed breeding record of Grasshopper Warbler for the reserve. This species is regular on territory but not easy to find the nest with young.

New in today 2 male breeding plumage Ruff. This is early for these birds to return so perhaps they have been around on the Ribble Estuary.

Other reports to today included 2 breeding plumage Med Gull, 2 Little Gull and Common Tern.

The first fledged Black-headed Gull chick was seen today. Barn Owl active this morning along the Reedbed Walk.
