Great white Egret
Bird of the day would have to go to the Great white Egret that was reported, it was seen around 11am from United Utilities before flying towards Harrier Hide. Other sightings today include a Green Sandpiper from Hale Hide, 2 Mediterranean Gulls (2nd sum/3rd cal yr) over the Mere late afternoon.
Several Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and a Peregrine were seen along with 2 Raven. Unfortunately the Moorhen chick and one of the Black headed Gull chicks from the same nest have disappeared overnight/early morning, presumably taken by a predator.
