Green-winged Teal Again
Green-winged Teal again throughout the day on Vinson's Marsh from the Ron Barker Hide with 1000+ Teal in the surrounding area. Great to hear the males whistling in their displays to females. A few Tufted Duck and Gadwall present in the deeper water from the Harrier Hide.
At least 3000 Pink-footed Geese this morning but mist until 1pm made scanning for other geese difficult. Over 1000 Whooper Swan present and a few Mute Swan. Perhaps the on coming cold snap will bring in more Bewick's.
New for the year, but undoubtably present from the 1st Jan, Little Grebe and Treecreeper.
Raptors included 2 Peregrine, 2 Common Buzzard, male Sparrowhawk. Barn Owl again late afternoon from the Ron Barker HIde.
