Grey Partridge

A Grey Partridge flushed out on the reserve fields as the cattle were being moved was the first of the year. This brings our year list onto a sleepy 97 species, compared to 2013's 107 by this date in the calendar.

The Siberian Chiffchaff was still present late afternoon occasionally singing, also Common Chiffchaff there.

Quiet report wise today. Similar numbers of waders to yesterday although around 50 Common Snipe were flushed by the cattle this morning. Little Egret on Woodend Marsh. Little Grebe from the Harrier Hide.

A few raptors reported including Marsh Harrier, 4+ Common Buzzard, Kestrel and this female Sparrowhawk which dispatched a Feral Pigeon.
