Much calmer conditions for viewing today. The Grey Phalarope is still present early afternoon from the Ron Barker Hide.

At least 3 Marsh Harrier, 2 Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel active. Barn Owl this morning was the first for a few weeks and the bird was seen again from the Harrier Hide from 3.30pm.

Good numbers of Pink-footed Geese in mid-afternoon, no obvious White-fronts, at least from my view point.

A flock of 80+ Barnacle Geese again. The assumption is that these are feral birds which spend the summer at Knowsley however this flock usually contains a couple of small race canada X barnacle hybrids and a Red-breasted Goose. None of these birds have been seen in the recent flock. Eighty Barnacle Geese would be an exceptionally large wild flock in Lancashire, but we do know from darvic ring numbers that wild birds do regularly occur in the county.

Willow Tit again from the Janet Kear Hide. Also there, one less Chaffinch, taken by a male Sparrowhawk.
