A very stormy day resulting in most birds trying to find shelter from the very strong winds, the sight of Raven, Marsh Harrier and Buzzard all sat on the ground next to Greylag Geese trying to get out of the wind was one of the most interesting of the day. At least 4 Marsh Harriers and the long staying Hen Harrier were seen today, often struggling in the wind, the sight of the Hen Harrier shearing like a seabird in the wind was memorable!

The Willow Tit was again from Janet Kear Hide along with good numbers of Chaffinch and Goldfinch. c1700 Whooper Swans and c1000 Pink footed Goose were using the reserve today. Small numbers of Ruff and 1 Black tailed Godwit were the most interesting waders today, but the hoped for seabird blown in by the winds unfortunately did'nt happen, but theres always tomorrow....
