Great views of the ring-tailed Hen Harrier today. A good raptor day all round with 3+ Marsh Harrier, Peregrine, 3 Common Buzzard, 2 Kestrel, and Sparrowhawk. Four Raven again today.
A count of 1340 Whooper Swan, not huge numbers for this time of year but the mild winter has meant many birds are still further north. A cracking male Goosander dropped in on Sunley's mid-afternoon.
Over 1000 Lapwing, 40+ Ruff, a few Snipe regularly flushed by harriers, Curlew and Black-tailed Godwit.
