Hen Harrier again

The male Hen Harrier was seen again this afternoon, it showed well from the appropriately named Harrier Hide, also at least 1 Marsh Harrier in the area and 2 adult Peregrine.

At least 80 Ruff and 1500 Lapwing on the reserve and upto 2000 Pink footed Geese in the area and roosting overnight on the Mere. The 2 Great black backed Gull are still on the Mere along with a Lesser black backed Gull for comparison, also good numbers of Herring Gulls over today in the bad weather, also a few Common Gull and good numbers of Black headed Gull on the Mere.

Lots of Pintail and good numbers of Wigeon and Teal also small numbers of Gadwall and Shoveler. Great spotted Woodpecker showing well from the Janet Kear hide, also the Tawny Owl has been seen over the last few days near the United Utilities hide.
