Hitting the highs.

Another days spectacular viewing with 1000's of Pink-footed Geese coming and going on the reserve. The new swan feeding regime is working well with the first of the days feed occurring at 10:30 from the Swan Link Hide and 11am in front of the heated Raines Observatory.

If you are lucky and carefully sneak into the Hale Hide just after the reserve opens it's possible to get amazing close up views of the Pinks. If you open the windows too quickly they'll all flush!

Over 1000 Whooper Swan again. One possible wild icelandic Greylag Goose in with Pink-footed Geese flocks.

Four Peregrine, 2 adult and 2 juvenile, one adult caught a Teal. Three Common Buzzard seen feeding on a dead goose sp. Marsh Harrier, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

Brambling by feeders near the Kingfisher Hide. Four Siskins new in and 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker still.
