A good start to the day in calm conditions. A Barn Owl was hunting this morning, viewable from the Ron Barker Hide. At least 4 Common Buzzard, Peregrine and Marsh Harrier.
Over 1000 Whooper Swan and 1000+ Pink-footed Geese roosting. We can expect more Pink-footed Geese to leave their Norfolk strongholds through the next few months as they make their journey back to Iceland.
Chiffchaff singing near the UU hide this morning. Stonechat from the Ron Barker Hide. Three Siskin along the Nature Trail and territorial Great-spotted Woodpeckers.
At least 1000 Lapwing, 40+ Ruff and 7 Common Snipe. A Little Egret flew over the reserve mid morning.
