A Knot seen from United Utilities Hide was a new bird in today, also a flock of 9 Ringed Plover were new birds. A Ruff was again from UU hide but no reports of the drake Garganey today. Other sightings included a Barn Owl, up to 3 Marsh Harrier as well as the usual Common Buzzard, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk. Little ringed Plovers continue to show well displaying and feeding close to the hides around the Mere.

Good numbers of Brown Hares use the site and are a commonly encountered animal out around the Mere and in the fields, also a Stoat today was seen to take a Rabbit close to one of the hides before dragging it up a grass banking out of sight, see below for a photo.
