Compilation of the last two day's sightings. Up to 3 Kingfisher showing each day from the Ron Barker Hide. Nice selection of waders around with up to 9 Dunlin, Common Sandpiper, 5 Little Ringed Plover, 150+ Lapwing, 30+ Avocet, 4 Oystercatcher, Ringed Plover and over 50 Black-tailed Godwit.

Peregrine was hunting out on Woodend Marsh as it was on Wednesday, Hobby seen on Wednesday too, first for sometime. Other raptors included the usual Common Buzzard, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk, the later nearly taking a Great-spoppted Woodpecker at the Janet Kear Hide.

A adult Mediterranean Gull was on the Mere briefly mid afternoon. Eight Common Tern loafing on the reserve including the 3 fledged young. It would appear the Great-crested Grebe chicks have been predated unless they are hiding away somewhere? Little Grebe and numbers of Swallow, House Martin and a few Sand Martin feeding in front of the Harrier Hide too.
