Latest Sightings

Raw easterlies and occasional rain made the beginning of May seem more like March.

A flock of 14 Whimbrel didn't hang around and headed North off the reserve early afternoon. Breeding plumage Ruff are present along with a fair number of siting Avocet. Both Ringed and Little Ringed Plover were seen today and a small number of Dunlin and Black-tailed Godwit.

A single White Wagtail and Wheatear were seen from the UU Hide late afternoon.

The Tawny Owl was in view this morning near the Kingfisher Hide.

The first Lapwing chicks of the year were seen, naturally, on Plover Field. The weather conditions aren't great for these small fluff balls so we can only hope that the forecast is better than it suggests.
