Latest Sightings

All the eastern promise and the forecasted rain today came to nothing. Still plenty of action to be had around the reserve with a morning birding total of over 60 species.

Two Sanderling (one in breeding plumage) still present mostly out on Woodend Marsh. Around 100 Black-tailed Godwit on the reserve, also Avocet with chick on the Mere, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 3 Ringed Plover, Oystercatcher with near full grown chick on Vinson's. Lapwing building in post breeding flock.

Two adult Med Gull on the Mere. Two Common Tern on Woodend. Little Grebe with full grown chick in front of the Harrier Hide, Great-crested Grebe there.

Recently excellent views of Mistle Thrush, Song Thrush and Red-legged Partridge on the overflow car park.
