Latest Sightings
A lovely day on the reserve. Plenty of Meadow Pipit and Skylark moving today. If you find yourself somewhere relatively quiet at this time of year these and other species can be heard calling over head for the first few hours of the day as they make there journey south.
Two Green Sandpiper new in seen from the Ron Barker Hide. Other waders included 500+ Lapwing, 20+ Ruff, 6 Black-tailed Godwit and some Common Snipe.
Raptor reports were slim although 13 Common Buzzard, Marsh Harrier, 3 Sparrowhawk and 2 Kestrel were seen.
As usual Kingfisher from the Ron Barker Hide. Grey Wagtails and some Pied/White were also seen today.
The forecast is still looking good for a major Pink-footed Goose influx possibly as early as Thursday but certainly Friday/Saturday.
