Latest Sightings

Another cold and damp one. We should be thankful it wasn't blowing a gale today! Not a huge number of reports so I'll keep this brief.

A minimum of 2 Barn Owl, surprised to see these out in light rain this morning. Challenging condition for these birds. Two Tawny Owl near the Kingfisher Hide in deep cover, if you want to see these call in at the in focus shop and we will draw you a map!

At least 3 Marsh Harrier causing a few thousand Teal and Wigeon to move about. Also 3+ Common Buzzard, 2 Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.

Spectacular numbers of Lapwing still with over 3000 birds. Other waders seen included 10 + Oystercatcher, 50+ Ruff, 6 Black-tailed Godwit and Common Snipe.

Tree Sparrow are investigating the nest boxes near the Raines Hide, roll on spring!
