Little Egret again

A Little Egret flew through the reserve today, there have been two in the wider area recently. The pair of Peregrine were using the reserve today and causing panic among the many Lapwing flocks.

Also at least 1 Marsh Harrier, 4 Common Buzzard and a Sparrowhawk were seen, but Kestrel is increasingly a harder bird to see!

Oystercatcher numbers are building up with at least 27 around the Mere today and upto 54 Ruff and 14 Black tailed Godwit. The first Avocets should be arriving back anytime in the next 2 weeks.

The male Stonechat is still showing from Ron Barker hide, and there were lots of Stock Dove feeding around the edge of the Mere.
