Little Egret still

The Little Egret is still present from the Harrier Hide, also upto 3 Little Grebe on show from here and 4 Wigeon. At least one Marsh Harrier was on the reserve today along with Sparrowhawk, several Common Buzzard and Kestrel.

Three Dunlin were new birds which flew through the reserve this morning without stopping. Also at least 51 Black-tailed Godwit and 12 Ruff still present and Common Snipe are becoming more obvious as new migrants start to appear.

A single Great black backed Gull and Common Gull were seen today, with the Great black backed having a go at juvenile Shelduck on the Mere!

Other wildlife included a single Hummingbird Hawkmoth in the collection area near the Beaver enclosure, always a delight to see, hopefully this will be the first of more sightings. Also a Puss Moth caterpillar by the In Focus shop. A reminder to anyone who has any interesting sightings or have photographed something of interest, please pop into the In Focus shop to let us know and we can put it on the website and sightings board, thanks.
