Little Gull

Chilly but fine in the sun. The blast of arctic air may be putting off the arrival of Reed Warblers and Whitethroats but a mostly winter plumage adult Little Gull was new for the year out on Woodend Marsh this morning.

Also new in a cracking full adult male Marsh Harrier which showed well on the Reed Bed Walk early on and out on the rest of the reserve until 10.30am at least.

Similar counts to yesterday of waders. At least 2 pair of Med Gull. House Martins noted today. No sound of Grasshopper Warbler early on, probably regretting arriving in the cold snap!

Map and picture free I'm afraid until the beginning of next week.
