Little Stint again

Chilly today with more cloud cover than predicted. Yesterday's Little Stint is still present out on Woodend Marsh keeping company with some newly arrived tundra Ringed Plover (10+) and 7 Dunlin.

Other waders were 6 Ruff, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 4 Oystercatcher, 20+ Lapwing, 30+ Avocet including the first chick (on Woodend) and 10+ Redshank again one with chick on Sunley's Marsh.

Cuckoo heard again to the left of the Harrier Hide. Both Great-crested and Little Grebe present here.

Swifts, Swallows and House Martins feeding low over the reserve in the cooler conditions today. Three Common Tern seen today.

Raptors reported included 3+ Common Buzzard, 2 Kestrel and 2 Sparrowhawk.
