Marbled duck seen on reserve

A Marbled Duck was found 4.15pm with Common Teal from the Ron Barker Hide yesterday. It appeared to be fully winged and the assumption is that it will be the same bird that turned up on the Ribble on the 4th of September. There has been a couple of further sightings the last being on the 30th of October at Hesketh Out Marsh. Altogether an interesting bird. The reserve will open as usual at 9.30am but the bird will be looked for before then and news disseminated if present.

Further reports  included 3 Marsh Harrier, Peregrine, 3 Common Buzzard, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

Two Water Rail by the Ron Barker Hide. Yesterday a Short-eared Owl.
